So I am going through the process of getting the Little Oak website up and running, putting the basic pages put together, figuring out my color schemes, configuring everything on the back end, connecting the social media accounts, getting WooCommerce set up, etc etc etc. All of it was going smoothly until I found myself staring at what I decided was an annoyance I couldn’t ignore.
This message at the top of my screen in the admin panel:
“Okay,” I think, “no big deal, I will just go to the WooCommerce settings, go into my gateways, and then deactivate the Braintree gateway.” Easy peasy! Actually, nope, it was not that simple, it didn’t go away. So I started digging around trying to find some hidden “x” to remove the message. Still no luck, finally I gave up on my stumbling around in the dark routine, jumped on Google, and found this plea for help by a similarly frustrated and soon to be slightly embarrassed fellow. Turns out that it is a simple plugin.
Huh? A plugin? “I didn’t install any plugins to annoy myself on purpose!” you exclaim angrily at your screen. And you didn’t, well not on purpose, but it still happened. When WooCommerce was installed on your website that plugin automatically came with it and was installed as well.
Yep, if you want to get rid of that annoying message all you’ve got to do is go to your installed plugins, WooCommerce PayPal Powered by Braintree Gateway, and deactivate the plugin. Problem solve! Woo!
I hope this post saved you the 50 minutes I spent searching for a straight up answer to this annoying, non-urgent issue I focused on completely earlier this evening. Writing this was the only way I could justify the time investment. If you ever have any questions or blog ideas feel free to send me a message via the contact page!
